Research

I am interested in gaining mechanistic understanding of nearshore processes in the ocean and how their dynamics governs the transport and mixing of heat, carbon and nutrients. I approach these problems as an ocean modeler, primarily through usage of the Regional Oceanic Modeling System. My current research seeks to understand how frictional drag by kelp forests impacts coastal currents at regional scales and its consequences for ecosystem function.
