Katie Maynard

Biography

Katie Maynard manages the UCSB Sustainability Internship Program and is a Sustainability Officer for UCSB. Ms. Maynard was trained early in her career in grassroots organizing and applies the same principles to her work in creating sustainability focused changes in large institutions. Ms. Maynard has been the Executive Director for CHESC since Summer 2005, putting on her first statewide conference in 2006. Ms. Maynard was the first paid staff person whose job description was to work on CHESC. During her time as Executive Director, she has helped to grow the conference and formalize the operations. In the past year, she also helped CHESC to transition to a virtual event. She is also a Planning Commissioner for the City of Goleta and staff to the UC Healthy Campus Network.

Job Responsibilities

Manages the Sustainability Internship Program. Serves as the Executive Director for the California Higher Education Sustainability Conference (CHESC) and staffs the UC Healthy Campus Network.
