Evan Baumann brings 12 years of experience developing and managing CalFesh(SNAP) and Social Service Outreach Programs for Food Banks in El Paso Texas as well as in Santa Barbara. Mr. Baumann is certified in 4 Federal Housing Programs and has 2 years of experience working for HUD and the Housing Authority. Most recently, Mr. Baumann administered CalFresh, Medi-Cal and General Relief eligibility for the Santa Barbara County Department of Social Services before joining the UCSB Team.
Evan Baumann manages the UCSB CalFresh Outreach Program, helping students to apply for CalFresh benefits. He also manages the Basic Needs Peer Advisors, student interns who are trained to meet with students experiencing food or housing insecurity or in need of other basic needs and to support those students in navigating on- and off- campus resources to meet those needs. Lastly, he also advises the Food Security & Basic Needs Communication Team which works to ensure that all students are aware of the basic needs resources available to them.
