Nitzan Swet

Research

I'm an Aeolian (by wind) geomorphologist, interested in dust emission mechanisms, sediment transport and erosion, soil physicochemical process, sand dune migration and coastal environments. I have finished my PhD at Ben Gurion University of the Negev, Israel in 2019. I studied dust emission mechanisms form aggregated soils and sandy environments.  After my PhD, I joined Prof. Ian j. Walkers' “Sand-Lab” research group here at UCSB. These days I’m studying the impact of management and human activity on costal sand dunes and the related dust emissions. I use both high resolution laboratory sediment analysis and close-range remote sensing (e.g., UAS and LiDAR) to quantify micro to macro changes in aeolian environments.
