Justin earned both his B.S. and Ph.D. in biology from West Virginia University. He joined the Trugman lab as a postdoctoral scholar in July 2020.
Justin's research is motivated by the central question, "How does global environmental change impact the transfer of carbon, water, and nutrients in forest ecosystems?" He uses a combination of techniques including analysis of leaf gas-exchange measurements, dendroisotopes, soil nutrient cycling assays, and ecosystem models in his research.
