The Department of Geography at the University of California, Santa Barbara invites applications for a pool of qualified temporary lecturers to teach course(s) in The Department of Geography for upcoming opening during Summer Session A (06/21/21- 07/31/21). Screening of applicants is ongoing and will continue as needed. The number of positions varies, depending on the needs of the department. Positions and percentage times may vary. The salary is based on UC's salary scales and dependent upon qualifications. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship.
Main duties include teaching upper-division and lower-division courses. The candidate should be interested and experienced in teaching in lab and lecturer-oriented classes.
Basic qualifications: Two years of teaching experience in any area of Geography and all requirements for the PhD except for dissertation to be completed at time of application.
Additional qualifications: PhD in Geography or related field (required at the time of appointment). Summer 2021 session A begins on June 21, 2021.
Preferred qualifications: Experience teaching in one or more areas of physical or human geography or geographic information science.
