Phelps Labs Open On Sundays - Have Arc GIS 9.3

Dear Geographers,

The Instructional Computing Dept., located in Phelps Hall, has open access labs for students and these lab rooms have Arc GIS 9.3 installed in them.
I just looked at the lab schedules and it appears that most of their labs are open from noon - 10:00 pm on Sundays, as well as other open labs during the week.

New PSTAT Class For Geography Majors - PSTAT 5LS

Please read the following:

The Statistics Department is in the process of reviewing the Undergraduate Curriculum and restructuring our undergraduate courses. Beginning Fall 2008, we are introducing a new course, PSTAT 5LS, specially designed to give students who are majoring in Life Sciences a more effective educational experience. We have elected to implement the division based on student majors: PSTAT 5LS will be for all majors in the Life Sciences, including: Psychology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Geography, Earth Science, Environmental Studies, EEMB and MCDB. PSTAT 5A will be geared toward students fulfilling general education requirements. PSTAT 5LS is a five unit class and will include two one hour sections per week. A one hour computer lab section where students will work on statistical problems using excel (the lab for 5A does not include excel), and a one hour classroom section where students will practice basic techniques. If your major and minor degrees require students to take an introductory statistics course (e.g. EEMB 30, PSTAT 5A. etc) please add PSTAT 5LS to the list. The course is scheduled for Fall 2008 (instructor: Dr. Dawn Holmes). Direct your students to register in PSTAT 5LS.

I have attatched a flier, and I am hoping you can let your students know of the new course.

Thank you
angelica
