Due to the Draconian cuts to the UC budget, the UCSB Department of Geography has decided to make its bi-annual newsletter digital. Despite good arguments for old fashioned hardcopy (see the June 29 posting: "A PC Proposal", the bottom line, after the latest round of UC funding cuts, is that the Department no longer has the money to afford the costs of printing and postage.
