A maximum of eight upper division units from related fields may be included for Geography credit, selected without petition from a list of approved alternatives in the department office or from other related courses by petition. Students who plan to obtain teaching credentials should not utilize this option. See Related Course List.

P/NP grading option is not allowed for any major course (Prep or UD), except for Geog 193 and Geog 199RA.

The same Geography course cannot be used to satisfy more than one category towards the major.

G.P.A. requirements: At least 2.0 overall UC average in all upper-division major courses and all courses (Prep and UD) for the major.

At least 20 upper-division units in major must be taken while in residence at UCSB.
